Why Clients Choose Online Therapy
Some clients prefer online therapy from the start. Others switch to it when life gets busy. Either way, the quality of the work is the same. Here’s what makes it a good fit:
Your schedule is demanding. Between work, family, and everything else, adding a commute to a therapy appointment feels like one more thing you don’t have time for. Online therapy gives you that hour back.
You don’t live near Beverly Hills. You might be in San Francisco, San Diego, Sacramento, or anywhere in between. As long as you’re in California, you can work with me.
Privacy matters to you. No parking lot, no waiting room, no risk of running into anyone. You log on from a private space and log off when the session is over.
You travel frequently. Whether for work or personal reasons, online therapy provides continuity. Your sessions happen consistently regardless of where you are in the state.
You feel more comfortable at home. Some people open up more easily in their own environment. If your couch feels safer than an office, that’s a valid reason to choose online.
What Online Therapy Looks Like
It’s simpler than you might think.
We use a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. Before your first session, you’ll receive a link by email. At your appointment time, click the link and we’re connected. All you need is a phone, tablet, or computer with a camera and a private space where you won’t be interrupted.
From there, the session is the same as an in-person session. We talk, we explore, we work with what’s coming up for you. If we’re doing somatic work, I’ll guide you through body awareness, breathwork, and nervous system regulation exercises that translate effectively to video. You don’t need to be in the same room for your body to respond.
Many clients are surprised by how natural it feels after the first session. The connection, the depth, and the therapeutic relationship are all fully present.
What We Work On in Online Therapy
Everything I offer in person is available online. There’s no watered-down version. Online therapy clients work on:
Anxiety that shows up as racing thoughts, physical tension, perfectionism, or the constant feeling of being on edge.
Trauma and PTSD, including childhood trauma, relational trauma, and complex trauma. Somatic approaches work well in a telehealth format because much of the work involves guided awareness and nervous system regulation.
Narcissistic abuse recovery. Online therapy can feel especially safe for survivors who are concerned about privacy or who are still navigating a difficult dynamic.
Couples therapy. Both partners join the same video session from wherever they are. Extended sessions are available for couples.
Burnout, life transitions, relationship patterns, identity struggles, and anything else you’d bring to an in-person session.
Questions About Online Therapy
Is online therapy as effective as in-person therapy?
Research consistently shows that online therapy is as effective as in-person therapy for most issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges. The key factor is the quality of the therapeutic relationship, not the medium.
What technology do I need?
A phone, tablet, or computer with a camera and a stable internet connection. That’s it. I’ll send you a secure link before each session. No special software to download.
Is it private and secure?
Yes. All sessions use a HIPAA-compliant, encrypted video platform. Your sessions are confidential and protected to the same standard as in-person therapy. As an out-of-network provider, no insurance company is involved in your care.
Can I switch between online and in-person?
Absolutely. Some clients do online sessions most weeks and come to the Beverly Hills office occasionally. Others start online and transition to in-person, or vice versa. The format is flexible and can change as your needs do.
Do you only see California residents online?
Yes. I am licensed in California, so online therapy is available to anyone physically located in California at the time of the session.
Can couples do therapy online?
Yes. Both partners join the same secure video session. It works well for couples with busy or conflicting schedules. Extended 80-minute sessions are available.
