Meet Taylor Schwartz | Therapist in Beverly Hills, CA

Founder, Inner Strength Therapy

Something on this site resonated with you, and you want to know if I’m the right person to help. I’m Taylor Schwartz, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#141214) in Beverly Hills, and I hold a Master’s in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy from The University of San Francisco. I work with people who are carrying anxiety, navigating the aftermath of a toxic relationship, or feeling stuck in patterns they can’t seem to break. My approach is rooted in helping you understand why you feel the way you do, so things can actually change.

My Approach to Therapy

I specialize in somatic therapy and psychodynamic therapy, two approaches that go deeper than traditional talk therapy.

Psychodynamic therapy helps us explore the emotional patterns, early relationships, and unconscious dynamics that continue to shape how you feel and relate today. It’s how we understand the why behind what you’re experiencing.

Somatic therapy brings the body into that process, because trauma and stress aren’t just stored in the mind. They live in your nervous system, your breath, the tension you carry without knowing why. When we work with the body, we can release what talk alone can’t reach.

Together, these approaches allow us to work with all of you, not just your thoughts, but your feelings, your history, and your body’s experience. This is how change goes to the root instead of staying on the surface.

Why I Do This Work

My own journey through trauma recovery, healing from narcissistic abuse and codependency within my family system taught me something powerful: therapy doesn’t just help you feel better in the moment it can fundamentally transform how you relate to yourself and others. Witnessing that shift in my own life, I knew I wanted to dedicate my career to supporting others through that same journey.

This lived experience informs everything I do as a therapist. I don’t just understand these struggles intellectually, I’ve walked through them. That means when we’re working through patterns, relational wounds, or the aftermath of narcissistic abuse, you’re working with someone who truly knows what healing looks like from the inside out.

“Taylor came highly recommended and I am so glad I came to see her. She is so welcoming and created such a safe space for me to open up. She is patient, supportive and offers guidance to find the root cause of my concerns. I’ve learned so much about myself and I look forward to continuing my sessions with her.”

Who I Work With

I work with adults, couples, and teens who are ready to go deeper than coping strategies. Whether this is your first time in therapy or you’ve been before and felt like something was missing, you may be looking for someone who can help you understand why you feel the way you do, not just how to manage it.

High-functioning anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing, the constant feeling that you’re one step away from falling apart even though everyone thinks you’re fine. We work with your mind and body to calm the nervous system and address the deeper patterns driving the anxiety.

Childhood wounds, complex trauma, relational trauma, the experiences that shaped how you see yourself and the world. We go at your pace, using somatic and psychodynamic methods to process what your mind and body are still holding onto.

Healing from controlling or toxic relationships, whether with a partner, parent, or someone else. Recovery isn’t just about leaving. It’s about rebuilding your sense of self and learning to trust your own judgment again.

Communication breakdowns, recurring conflict, trust repair, emotional distance, and premarital counseling. We get to the root of what’s happening between you, not just the surface-level arguments.

The Details

I offer in-person sessions at our Beverly Hills office at 8500 Wilshire Blvd, Suite 740, Beverly Hills, CA 90211  and secure telehealth sessions throughout California. Evening appointments are available after 5pm, Monday through Friday.

I am an out-of-network provider, which means your therapy is completely private, no diagnoses reported to insurance, no session limits, and no third party involved in your care. I am happy to provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Please check with your insurance about your out of network mental health benefits – many of my clients are able to get reimbursement from their insurance.
